"Gender Identity Disorder" is neither a disease nor a disability from a religious perspective.
It is likely a case commonly referred to as "Gender Identity Disorder."
However, "Gender Identity Disorder" is not considered a disease or disability from a religious standpoint.
The issue lies in the mismatch between the physical "gender" and the soul's "gender" in self-awareness.
Within LGBT, "L = Lesbian, "G = Gay, "B = Bisexual" pertains to sexual orientation (whether the romantic interest is female, male, or both), but "T = Transgender" specifically addresses the difference between the physical "gender" and the self-identified "gender."
From a religious perspective, "Gender Identity Disorder" represents a state where "a male soul resides in a female body" or "a female soul resides in a male body," indicating that the feeling of gender mismatch is a spiritual truth.
Four Spiritual Causes of LGBT
Why has a male soul come to reside in a female body?
Let's consider the causes of "Gender Identity Disorder" from a spiritual perspective.
Cause 1: Choosing this gender as part of a life plan.
In life planning, there are cases where one deliberately chooses a body of a different gender than their soul. For example, a case where a male turbulent soul enters a female body for life training.
Takashi Okawa: One reason for being born consecutively as a girl is perhaps due to the rough times during the Meiji Restoration. In other words, it seems that there was someone (spiritual person) who thought, "If born a boy, no matter how many lives one has, it won't be enough," and made considerations. It seems that within this person's "soul lineage," there is someone who acts as a sort of "organizer" or "caretaker." This person might have made considerations based on the view that "if born a boy, one would likely die in a way that doesn't allow for a long life" during the previous wars. It is also possible that if one lived a very extreme life as a male, they might need to "rest their soul by experiencing being female for a while, gather strength, and then fight again as a male." Well, from what I hear now, it seems safe to say that "if one has killed more than five people, they are likely to be reborn as a female in the next life."
Saito: If one has killed more than five people, they often...
Takashi Okawa: It can be said that they are likely to be born.
Saito: I see.
Takashi Okawa: Generally speaking.
Saito: Yes, generally speaking...
Takashi Okawa: Therefore, it means that one must "rest a bit."

Cause 2: Not being able to become the gender chosen in the life plan.
There are also cases where one enters a body of a different gender than planned for some reason. For example, if the predetermined parents only give birth to children of a gender different from the soul's gender.
Humans can be born repeatedly as males, or as females in a goddess-like manner, or alternately as both genders, which are roughly three types. Recently, "Gender Identity Disorder" has been highlighted, and there are cases where one has always been born male but this time is born female, or has always been born female but this time is born male, which can be a bit shocking, representing a "planning mistake" made when planning reincarnation in the afterlife. For instance, before being born, one might have decided, "These parents are absolutely the ones," but those parents might only give birth to one child. In that case, one might have intended to be born male but ends up having to enter a female body, leading to thoughts like, "Wait, I intended to be male but ended up female. This is troubling."

Cause 3: Being influenced by a possessing spirit.
Furthermore, there are cases where possession is the cause. If a male spirit possesses a female and the self-awareness becomes male, it can lead to an attraction to women.
Additionally, from a religious perspective, there are cases where "the soul was of a different gender in a past life," but there are also cases of "possessing spirits during this life." In other words, a male might be possessed by a female spirit, or a female by a male spirit, leading them to believe, "This is who I am."

Cause 4: Choosing a gender for work.
There are cases where a person with a sensitive, feminine soul works as a male in this life for artistic purposes. Typically, in a soul group of six, half are female and half are male, and they are reborn alternately. Even if one is male in this life, they may have a feminine sensibility, which can be highly valued in the fields of art and design.
For those who are male spirits but were born female due to gender transition, they may currently feel frustrated, and those who were born male despite being predominantly female spirits may struggle to be recognized by others. Those who are originally female spirits but born male often express themselves through artistic sensibilities or sensitive work.

Thoughts of President Takashi Okawa
President Takashi Okawa has taught various perspectives on this issue through his sermons.
Here, we present an excerpt from the book "The World of Freedom, Democracy, and Faith."
We know that within our teachings, there are those who were male in past lives and are reborn as females, or those who were female and are reborn as males, as well as those who repeatedly are born as females or males.
In other words, it is possible for someone who was female in a past life to be born male in this life, and vice versa. A female spirit can reside in a male body, or the opposite can occur. Therefore, it is understood that there can be such tendencies in the heart. Knowing this, I believe discrimination should not occur.
However, the fact that males can be born as females and females as males raises the question of what this means: "Life is only about thirty thousand days at most, so you are commanded to properly fulfill your duties and make your flowers bloom within the gender you were born into this time." I hope you can think of it that way. (Omitted)
Therefore, it is good to know that "this is not something simple as a doctor or judge might think."

How to Deal with Gender Identity Disorder
"Perhaps I might have Gender Identity Disorder..."
I would like to consider how to deal with such tendencies when one becomes aware of them.
In modern times, there are cases of artificial abortion, and many complicated issues arise. For instance, marriage may unexpectedly involve a different partner, leading to changes in the planned life conditions, making it difficult to follow through as expected.
Even if one is born with a gender different from what was planned, if their "soul siblings" are a mix of male and female spirits, they usually accept it. Even in cases of "first time as a male" or "first time as a female," there are instances where one accepts it gracefully and lives on.
However, in your friend's case, it seems they are struggling with a sense of "I just can't accept it." Because a soul of a different gender resides in their body, they likely cannot shake the feeling of "This is not how it should be."
In most cases, when all other "soul siblings" are either all female spirits or all male spirits, if one is born with a different gender, such intense feelings can easily arise.
However, looking at the long reincarnation cycle, it is still common to be born alternately as male or female, as one needs to experience both for sufficient life experience.
That person may have been born with a gender different from what they planned this time, but that too is an experience for the soul, so it might be one way to live by accepting it, or if they absolutely cannot accept it, undergoing gender transition surgery might be one option. (Omitted)
What kind of life one chooses to live afterward is up to that person.
Even if one lives their life resenting that fact, it won't lead to anything good, and at some point, they will have to come to terms with it. "Not everything goes as one wishes."
For example, many people struggle with the fact that their height, weight, appearance, and even the contents of their mind are "not as they thought it would be." Many people feel, "This is not how it was supposed to be" due to discrepancies from their pre-birth plans.
Everyone endures such things in life, so I hope you can avoid loneliness and keep trying.

Method 1: Live this life as your current gender.
Humans can originally be born as either male or female. Even if the gender one is born into differs from their soul's self-awareness, it is important to strive to learn the goodness of that gender. Consider it a great opportunity to expand the vessel of the soul.
Method 2: Undergoing gender transition surgery is also one option.
If one cannot shake the feeling of discomfort and absolutely cannot accept it, undergoing gender transition surgery is also one option.
What matters is whether the heart is heavenly.
What will your next life be like? Will you become female again, or will you be born male this time? It depends on your "attitude of heart" in this life.
What matters is whether "the heart is heavenly."
Even if your heart's gender differs from your physical gender, by having the right faith and striving for the elevation of the soul, if you can clear the "problem set" given to you in this life, your next life will surely be bright.
There may be times when you feel discomfort with the body you have been given.
By deeply meditating at the Happy Science temple, reflecting on your heart, and exploring your mind, you may gradually come to understand the spiritual background reasons for that "discomfort."
Furthermore, to aim for the elevation of your soul and personality, it is important to consider what choices you should make in this life. From the perspective of "soul training," it is essential to think about this.
