Self-Objective View - President Ryuho Okawa's Guideline for the Heart 201

President Ryuho Okawa's work 'Guideline for the Heart' is serialized in the Happy Science's publication Monthly 'Happy Science'. Posters are displayed at branches nationwide, and it is widely known as the monthly face of Happy Science.

This month's 'Guideline for the Heart' is 'Self-Objective View.' This theme is often addressed in self-help books, but President Ryuho Okawa preached about 'self-objective view from a higher perspective.' I asked Instructor Michio Shintani open_in_new at Yokohama Seishinkan for hints on learning this guideline.

In this month's 'Guideline for the Heart,' I was taught about 'what true self-objective view means.'

Seeing oneself objectively is very difficult. When I was a branch manager, something like this happened.

A female believer complained, 'The “vibration” coming from the branch manager is too strong, and it’s painful.'

(What!? Why!?) I was shocked. I thought I was being kind to everyone. But reflecting on it in light of the teaching of 'right view'...

I had the ideal of wanting to 'make the branch better' and 'believers should be like this,' but due to my ego, it turned into a 'judgmental heart' rather than a pure heart of love, leading to 'harshness' and 'imposition.'

(Ah, I’m so sorry...)

I came to realize that to see myself correctly, I need to understand people's hearts more.

In light of the 'will of the deities'

Even when we say 'objective view,' worrying about 'how others see me' is a 'worldly perspective.' For true self-objective view, it is important to first know the 'will of the deities' and think about 'how I should be from the perspective of the deities.'

I have seen many people at the temple repeatedly reflecting and training, and those who are looking at their own hearts while learning the teachings of the deities (Buddhist truth) gradually come to understand the hearts of those around them. Then, 'love' and 'sense of responsibility' expand, their capacity grows larger, and their gratitude for being alive with others deepens, leading them to grasp the happiness of the soul.

It is said that everyone eventually returns to the other world, where their entire life is reflected in the 'Mirror of Reflection,' showing them their true selves. To avoid being troubled at that time, let’s strive together to live in a way that 'would not be embarrassing even if seen by my guardian spirit.'
