The path is close at hand - Guidelines for the Heart by Ryuho Okawa, President - 222 -

President Ryuho Okawa's original work "Guidelines for the Heart" is serialized in the Happy Science's publication Monthly 'Happy Science'. Posters are displayed at branches nationwide, and it is widely known as the monthly face of Happy Science.

This month, the mindset for pursuing goals has been presented. I spoke with Mr. Wang Weizhi, a Taiwanese who is working on the dissemination of the truth of Buddhism as the Head of Happy Science East Asia.

Born in Taiwan in 1976. National Kaohsiung University of Applied Sciences, Graduate School of Japanese Language. I encountered the teachings of Happy Science during my graduate school days and began my service in 2004. I have been in my current position since August 2020.

Continue to strive and overcome jealousy

I learned from this guideline and reflected on my own life.

Born in Taiwan, I was attracted to Japanese culture and language during middle school, and later learned Japanese under a strict teacher. In my teenage years, I was filled with jealousy when I saw people who could speak Japanese better than I could (I didn't want to admit it!). However, even during my two years of military service, I continued to study diligently, and my competitive spirit faded, allowing me to focus on self-improvement. After retiring, I encountered Happy Science while studying Japanese in graduate school, and here I am now.

(I didn't underestimate small efforts regarding language learning.)

I thought so. But...

The diligence of faith is an infinite path

Recently, when I listened again to President Ryuho Okawa's sermon "Pure Faith" from 2007, I was shocked to see the Chinese subtitles I translated at that time. They were far too "light and childish".

(Oh, I'm so sorry...)

That clumsiness was not just a technical issue with translation. Fifteen years ago, I did not yet understand the true greatness of Master El Cantare and had a human perspective. Because I had not fully grasped that the Master is truly the "Supreme God" and "not just an ordinary human," I could not express the depth of the Master's words in translation.

(I must make my heart more transparent and elevate my faith...)

Every job has a path of improvement, but especially the path of faith that conveys the Master's teachings even thousands of years later is infinite. I renewed my vow to thoroughly pursue daily diligence with a humble heart, without becoming arrogant.

We believers in Taiwan have a great goal of conveying the Master's teachings to the people of China and helping them find happiness. To achieve this, various activities and continuous dissemination are necessary, accompanied by sweat and tears, and 'limits' will inevitably arise. I feel that daily, steady efforts are needed to break through those limits.

I want to practice the 'teaching of effort' from this guideline and strive even more.
