Ryuho Okawa's work "Guidelines of the Heart" is serialized in the Happy Science's publication Monthly 'Happy Science'. Posters are displayed at branches nationwide, and it is widely known as the monthly face of Happy Science.

This month's "Guidelines of the Heart" revealed the spiritual truth that "Liars cannot return to heaven." In today's world where lies are rampant, I asked Mr. Fumiyasu Kato open_in_new, Vice Chairman of the Faculty of Future Creation at HSU open_in_new, about the "honesty" required from individuals and nations.

The "Honest Heart" sought by gods and Buddhas

After reading this month's guidelines, I honestly felt, "Ah, this is tough."

When I reflect on my life honestly, there were words I said as a tactic in work and as a lubricant in human relationships that came from my own weakness and self-preservation, which were 'lies'. However, as taught by Ryuho Okawa, it is not said that gods and Buddhas will send you to hell for even one lie. I believe that it is most important to continue the effort of "looking at one's own heart and sincerely reflecting when realizing mistakes."

Moreover, in addition to each of us living honestly, honesty is also necessary for society and the nation, which is a collective of citizens. If the nation itself is in a system that tells lies, the light of gods and Buddhas will not shine, and their protection will not be sought.

Let's create a happy country without lies

President Okawa has also mentioned the "lies of politicians, prime ministers, and chief cabinet secretaries," but for example, in 2009, the government referred to North Korea's missiles as "flying objects." In reality, they were "missiles for preparing attacks," but they lied to avoid responsibility. In such a government, the citizens cannot be protected, so President Okawa established the Happy Realization Party open_in_new and advocated for the importance of national defense with integrity.

On the other hand, neighboring China lies that "the Japanese army massacred 300,000 people in Nanjing," and South Korea continues to lie about issues like "Takeshima" and "comfort women." Many experts and researchers have verified that these are false, but Japanese politicians, as represented by the "Kono, Murayama, and Miyazawa statements," simply apologize without standing up for themselves. Here too, there is a "big lie" that hurts Japan's pride.

Furthermore, continuing to distribute money to win elections without addressing the huge fiscal deficit that will leave a significant burden on the next generation cannot be called honest politics.

After all, no one wants to live in a world full of liars, and it is only in a world where we can trust each other that we can develop and everyone can be happy. Therefore, let us together think, "Starting with myself," and accept the heart of the gods and Buddhas.
