Enduring the Weakness of the Heart - President Ryuho Okawa's Heart Guidelines 173 -

President Ryuho Okawa's original work "Heart Guidelines" is serialized in the Happy Science's publication Monthly 'Happy Science'. Posters are displayed in branches nationwide, and it is widely known as the monthly face of Happy Science.

This month's "Heart Guidelines" emphasized the importance of individuals and nations facing their "own weaknesses." I asked Mr. Seiji Kawada, a former Air Self-Defense Force pilot who currently teaches at HSU open_in_new*, for tips on overcoming "weakness."

Facing the Weakness of the Heart...

After reading this "Heart Guidelines," I deeply felt that both individuals and nations cannot open the way without reflecting on their "own weaknesses."

For example, when struggling with relationships, it is painful, but it is a good opportunity to face one's own weaknesses. In such times, I think of those who feel conflict and silently ask, "Please tell me my shortcomings." Then, through meditation, I can dialogue and become aware of my areas for improvement through the other person's perspective. By accepting that honestly and transforming myself, I can grow further, and my actual relationships improve as well.

I encountered Happy Science in my twenties when I was a Self-Defense Force pilot, and I have relied on President Ryuho Okawa's teachings as my support since then. Even when troubled by a lack of talent, believing that "humans are children of the divine" and "effort opens the way" gives me the strength to overcome my current self.

From such experiences, I realize that having faith truly allows people to grow.

To Recognize One's Strengths

I currently teach international politics at HSU, and I believe that "knowing one's own weaknesses" is also important for nations.

For example, China, which engages in hegemonic expansion and human rights suppression. Although it may seem strong at first glance, it has the weakness of being unable to reflect on its own shortcomings. China is under a one-party dictatorship by the Communist Party, and the dissatisfaction of the people has accumulated significantly, but the government suppresses criticism through oppression and makes Japan the villain to avoid addressing its own flaws. For China to truly develop, the people need to love their country and create a system that allows for transformation to make it a better nation.

Facing one's own weaknesses and shortcomings requires courage, but by not running away and accepting the real self while making efforts, one can begin to see their strengths and gradually come to like themselves.

The way will surely open, so why not take the first step of effort together?
