Ryuho Okawa's original work 'A Guide to the Heart' is serialized in the Happy Science's publication Monthly 'Happy Science'. Posters are displayed at branches nationwide, and it is widely known as the monthly face of Happy Science.
For those who want to read the Guide to the Heart in the monthly magazine, you can also find it in Monthly 'Happy Science' June Issue.
This month's 'Guide to the Heart' raised questions about the act of 'laughing and ignoring' those who act to save the world. We asked the editor-in-chief of the opinion magazine Monthly 'The Liberty' , Jiro Ayaori , about the attitude we should take towards those who act for the sake of the world.
Chinese students who risk their lives
As mentioned in this 'Guide to the Heart', I know a student who took political action at the risk of his life. His name is Li Jiabao, a Chinese university student studying in Taiwan. He became aware of the absurdities of China after experiencing the free atmosphere in Taiwan.
In China, hundreds of millions of surveillance cameras and internet search monitoring keep citizens under government surveillance. Criticizing Xi Jinping can lead to severe consequences or arrest.
Amidst this, Li bravely released a video criticizing Xi Jinping's dictatorship to change the Chinese regime, based on his own conscience and sense of mission. In that video, Li spoke about the persecution and torture of millions of Falun Gong practitioners by the Chinese government and the massacre of students who sought freedom during the Tiananmen Incident, passionately urging, 'I hope many young people will raise their voices following me.'
After releasing that video, Li received a return order to China and lost contact with his parents... His friends laughed and said, 'Why do such foolish things?' and distanced themselves from him. However, I believe Li's actions, choosing 'freedom' at the risk of his life, were very brave.
Actions open the future
Regarding the dictatorship of the Chinese Communist Party and human rights abuses, Japan's Prime Minister Abe has said nothing and has only prioritized economic relations with China. However, if this continues, the Chinese people will remain unfree. Moreover, in January of this year, Xi Jinping stated that he would not rule out 'military action' for the unification of Taiwan, spreading misfortune to Taiwan as well.
In the tense cross-strait situation, Ryuho Okawa held a lecture in Taiwan with the thought of 'not sparing lives' and criticized the Chinese Communist Party's control over Taiwan. He called for democratization in China.
I believe we should not be indifferent to such courageous actions and Li's claims, as they may change the world for the better. We will continue to convey the spirit of those who take such political actions in Monthly 'The Liberty'.
