President Ryuho Okawa's 'Guideline of the Heart' is serialized in the propagation magazine of Happy Science, Monthly 'Happy Science'. It is displayed in branches nationwide and is widely known as the monthly face of Happy Science.

This month's 'Guideline of the Heart' discusses the qualities necessary for leaders and their essentials. We spoke with Mr. Taisuke Iwami, who teaches at HSU open_in_new *School of Management Success, about the significance and methods of honing the 'power to think deeply' based on his experience at a major consulting firm.

Thinking deeply about the needs of others

Previously, I worked in sales at a major consulting firm, connecting business owners with consultants. When I first joined, I visited hundreds of clients as instructed by my boss, but I couldn't secure a single contract.

(If we don't provide the plans that the other party wants, rather than what our company wants to sell, won't it be unsellable?)

Thinking this way, I made it a habit to gather information while considering where the needs of business owners lie.

One day, I learned about a personnel change at a certain car dealership from a small article in the newspaper. At that moment, I realized, 'This might be a succession soon.' So, I thought deeply about the plans that the company needed most at that time and went to pitch them. As a result, the president and his son, who is a director, were very pleased, and we immediately reached an agreement. I felt the importance of thinking deeply from the customer's perspective.

The secret to advanced judgment is faith

After becoming a monk in Happy Science, I have been receiving consultations from various business owners while learning the management theories taught by President Ryuho Okawa.

In that process, I learned that 'growing companies' indeed have 'the power to think deeply.' Specifically, they made important management decisions based on 'thinking pillars' such as management philosophy and company motto. They also did not neglect the studies and information gathering necessary for daily management decisions, reflecting on the actions taken by their company and continuously accumulating lessons and wisdom.

Moreover, many successful people in the world possess some form of 'faith', which is the most important point.

Those who do not believe in deities may be intelligent in worldly terms, but they tend to think from a self-centered perspective. However, those who learn the teachings of deities and make reflection, meditation, and prayer a habit receive guidance from the heavenly realm, refining their management decisions. This is also the charm of HSU, founded by President Ryuho Okawa, where one can learn such 'divine will.'

The dual wheels of 'believing' and 'thinking deeply' empower not only business owners but also anyone to solve life's applied problems.
