The "Heart Guidance" written by President Ryuho Okawa is serialized in the Happiness Science pamphlet Monthly "Happiness Science". Branches nationwide also display posters, and it is widely known as the monthly face of Happiness Science.
This month's "Heart Guidance" is about "What it means to be free." We asked Director Mitsuharu Sugiura of Shinjuku Seika about the points for living happily while expressing the freedom of the heart.

There are countries abroad where there is no freedom of politics or religion, but Japan is blessed with freedom in that regard.

We often feel constrained when we have troubles in our daily human relationships, don't we?

A heart that understands others

When we clash with others in parent-child relationships, marriages, or workplaces, reflecting on our hearts in light of the teachings of Happiness Science can reveal that we may be imposing our own "common sense" or denying others based on certain "preconceptions." These values are shaped by the environment we grew up in and the influence of our parents, but the other person has a different set of values.

Therefore, before insisting on our own thoughts, it is very important to have a "heart of love" that seeks to understand the other person, so as not to bind each other's freedom.

Open up your life through effort

Moreover, the greatest freedom we possess is the freedom to "create our own lives through effort." I believe that is the greatest happiness given to us by God. Together, let's make this year one where we can experience such happiness.
