Victory for Happy Science in the Supreme Court. In the defamation lawsuit over Hiroshi's book, Parting Ways with Happy Science published by Bungeishunju, damages for numerous falsehoods have been confirmed.

Regarding the defamation lawsuit over Hiroshi Okawa's book, Parting Ways with Happy Science published by Bungeishunju (filed on March 17, 2020), the Supreme Court made a decision on August 24, 2023, to dismiss the appeal filed by Bungeishunju Ltd. and Hiroshi.

With this decision by the Supreme Court, the high court ruling that upheld the district court's decision ordering Bungeishunju Ltd. and Hiroshi, the defendants, to pay 1.21 million yen in damages to Happy Science has been finalized.

In this lawsuit, the court acknowledged that there were numerous falsehoods in the book written by Hiroshi and published by Bungeishunju Ltd. without conducting proper fact-checking with Happy Science.

Happy Science strongly urges Bungeishunju Ltd. and Hiroshi to sincerely accept the Supreme Court's decision, deeply reflect on themselves and repent for their actions, and never blaspheme faith, make false statements, or slander our group ever again.
