Gratitude for Others' Love - President Ryuho Okawa's Heart Guidance 207 -

President Ryuho Okawa's original work "Heart Guidance" is serialized in the Happy Science's publication Monthly 'Happy Science'. Posters are displayed at branches nationwide, and it is widely known as the monthly face of Happy Science.

Based on this month's "Heart Guidance," we asked Director Hisato Horiuchi open_in_new of the Head Temple Seishinkan for hints on how to transform the suffering of wanting to be recognized by others into "love for others."

Born in Nagano Prefecture in 1959. Joined Happy Science in 1989. Has held positions such as Executive Director and has served as the head of the Head Temple for over 10 years. Has been in the current position since July 2012.

I am convinced that if many people practice the "Heart Guidance" received this month, unhappiness will disappear and a happy world will spread. As stated in this guidance, there are many who are suffering from the desire to be recognized, aren't there?

The 'Heart Law' that divides happiness and unhappiness

A few years ago, a person who repeatedly changed jobs due to resentment towards their boss at every workplace received training at the Head Temple Seishinkan (※1). This person grew up in a single-parent household due to their parents' divorce and harbored resentment towards their father. During the training, when reflecting on the past, they recalled a scene where their estranged father treated them to a meal when they got a job, and he was in tears at the farewell.

Although they thought they were abandoned by their father and resented him, they realized that they were actually loved by him, and tears of gratitude overflowed. This seemed to lead to a strangely harmonious relationship with their boss.

In other words, this person’s desire to be loved by their father was replaced by the desire to be recognized by their boss, and they were repeatedly rebelling because that need was not being met. The heart attracts similar things like a magnet, so harboring resentment draws unhappiness, and transforming that into a heart of gratitude attracts happiness.

'Happiness' born from 'Gratitude'

To realize how much you are loved by others, it is recommended to keep a 'Love Balance Sheet (※2)' as taught by President Ryuho Okawa in scriptures such as 'Love People, Give Life, and Forgive People.' open_in_new Additionally, at the end of each day, writing down what you have received from others in a 'Gratitude Notebook' is also suggested. Furthermore, regularly practicing gentle words and a soft smile, known as 'Wagen Aigo,' and small acts of 'Giving Love' will evoke a sense of happiness that the love you give brings happiness to those around you.

Originally, we are children of the divine and are beings who have been given everything by the divine. By realizing the love of the divine, 'gratitude' is born, and we can be reborn as someone who 'gives love' to others. Let us begin to walk together on the 'Life of Giving Love.'
