[Complete Victory for Happy Science Confirmed] Appeal to the Supreme Court by Gentosha and Hiroshi was Dismissed

Happy Science filed a lawsuit (October 4, 2023) against Gentosha Inc. (President Toru Kenjo) and the Hiroshi Okawa for damages due to defamation, as the honor of Happy Science was damaged by the content of the book (authored by Hiroshi, published by Gentosha) and Hiroshi's statements on it on YouTube.

Although Gentosha and Hiroshi appealed to the Supreme Court against the Tokyo High Court's dismissal of their appeal, they did not submit the reasons within the prescribed period. As a result, before the Supreme Court could make a decision, the Tokyo High Court issued a dismissal on March 28, 2025, which was confirmed without any objection.

As a result, the Tokyo District Court's ruling of complete victory for Happy Science (ordering Gentosha and Hiroshi to pay a total of 1.65 million yen in damages to our organization and to delete the YouTube video) has been confirmed.

Furthermore, before the publication of the book, Happy Science had warned Gentosha that 1) many falsehoods in Hiroshi's statements had been repeatedly revealed through multiple lawsuits with the Happy Science group, and 2) appropriate investigative reporting and content verification were necessary for the publication of the book. Nonetheless, Gentosha ignored these warnings and published the book without any investigative reporting on Happy Science, which was an act that went against publisher ethics.

We strongly urge Gentosha and Hiroshi to sincerely accept the fact of their complete defeat, deeply reflect, and never blaspheme faith, make false statements, or engage in slander again.
