Happy Science Group's View on Hiroshi Article Published in Monthly 'WiLL'

The April issue of the monthly magazine 'WiLL', published by WAC Corporation, featured an article signed by Hiroshi titled 'I Was a Victim of the University of Tokyo Myth'. This article contains numerous defamatory statements based on falsehoods, and we hereby clarify these errors.

Monthly 'WiLL' Employs Hiroshi, Recognized by the Court for Numerous Lies

Three years ago, the editorial department of the monthly 'WiLL' published articles by Hiroshi full of lies twice, including during the House of Councillors election, and published our church's rebuttal articles in response.
Subsequently, in a defamation lawsuit filed by the Happy Science Group on June 28, 2019, seeking a total of 20 million yen in damages for multiple YouTube videos by Hiroshi, the Tokyo District Court ruled on January 21, 2022, that Hiroshi must pay a total of 1.32 million yen in damages to the Happy Science side, resulting in a victory for the Happy Science Group. The ruling also ordered Hiroshi to delete the YouTube videos containing defamatory content against our group, and numerous falsehoods in Hiroshi's claims were recognized.
Nevertheless, the fact that the monthly 'WiLL' published Hiroshi's article again without fact-checking with our group is an outrageous act that goes against the spirit of journalism, which should be based on objectivity and fairness.

There Is No 'University of Tokyo Myth' in Our Group

In this article, Hiroshi states that he was harshly reprimanded by his father for poor grades, saying things like 'you good-for-nothing', but President Okawa has never scolded his children, although he has encouraged them in their studies. Hiroshi claims he was persistently told to go to the University of Tokyo after entering junior high school, but there is no such fact. Hiroshi made mistakes in addition and subtraction in the first grade of elementary school and was at the bottom of his grade in the third year of Gakugei University-affiliated Takehaya Junior High School, making it impossible for him to advance internally. Among his siblings, he was particularly poor in performance, and after his intellectual level became apparent, no one recommended him to take the University of Tokyo entrance exam.
Furthermore, there is no fact that there is a 'University of Tokyo Myth' within his family or our church. In 2015, we established Happy Science University (HSU) with the founding spirit of 'Pursuing Happiness and Creating a New Civilization', and there is no such thing as faith in the University of Tokyo. Our group's basic stance is that 'success in entrance exams is not necessarily success in life'.
President Okawa, in his lecture 'The World of Suffering', also evaluates other universities fairly. Moreover, he states that the University of Tokyo does not necessarily teach what is needed in the real world, and in meritocratic societies like trading companies, success is not guaranteed. Religiously, one must be able to use words that move people to tears and lead them to faith, requiring a different kind of ability than entrance exams, such as humility and perseverance in humble tasks.
Regarding Hiroshi's education, it is an objective fact that emotional education was also emphasized, and care was taken not to focus solely on knowledge education. Hiroshi's claim that 'I was a victim of the University of Tokyo Myth' is a falsehood based on malice.

Defamation Against the Lord of Humanity Is a Great Sin

In the first place, President Okawa, as the founder of Happy Science, is a public figure who fulfills his religious mission without rest 24/7, dedicating everything to the salvation of all humanity, and is the 'Lord of Humanity' worshipped by numerous believers worldwide.
In this article, Hiroshi suggests that his father might have had an inferiority complex compared to his excellent brother, but there is no such fact. Hiroshi and the monthly 'WiLL' are deliberately defaming the Lord of Humanity with falsehoods and insults by calling him the possessor of the 'University of Tokyo Myth', but it is rather Hiroshi and the monthly 'WiLL' who are trapped in such academic faith. They should know the weight of their sin in how much they hurt the faith of many believers and how much mental anguish they cause through such one-sided articles lacking religious understanding.

This article aims to manipulate impressions maliciously, giving readers the false impression that there is a University of Tokyo Myth in our group. Our group strongly protests against Hiroshi and the editorial department of the monthly 'WiLL' for publishing defamatory articles like this.
